Starting his career in Real Estate Development and Construction in 1990, Mr. Katter came from very humble beginnings. His first position was a journeyman carpenter, quickly ascended through the ranks through hard work and the lessons learned from his mentors. In 1194, he was given an opportunity to become an Assistant Superintendent and build his first Development named The Knolls of Melville, a 240 unit Senior Housing project in which he named the roads after his Son “Cody Drive” and his Sister-in-law Shannon “Shannon Way”. Kent credits those early years as the foundation to his 35-year career, learning every aspect of Development and Construction with a hands-on approach. Even today, you will find him onsite, listening to his crews, discussing new and innovative means and methods of construction, thriving to learn something new everyday.

In the early 2000’s Mr. Katter went on to become the Vice President of Construction for the Benjamin Companies and built some of Long Island’s most prestigious Developments. A few of which he is most proud of are; The Greens at Half Hollow a 1,350 unit Townhome Active Adult Development built around a 18 hole golf course, Townhouse Extended Care Facility, a 280 Bed Nursing Home, Melville Fire Department Station House and Islip Landings a 225 unit Townhouse Senior Housing Development.

Eventually Mr. Katter started his own Development firm and built numerous Senior Housing, Affordable Housing and Multiple Single-Family Developments throughout Long Island and the 5 boroughs. To further his Real Estate Expertise, Kent started and still maintains his own Real Estate Brokerage Firm. His personal interests center around his family, with a little Golf, Fishing and his love of boating to round things off.

The last 35 years of Real Estate Experience has culminated with the opportunity to partner with his good friend Frank Amicizia and the eventually the opportunity to join The Independent General Contracting Companies. The partnership of Grant, Frank and Kent has developed, general contracted and completed the site work on numerous exciting developments over the past 2 years.
